COLOMBIA-

From the Interchurch Dialogue for Peace in Colombia – DIPAZ, a message was sent to the World Council of Churches, “so that the interchurch and ecumenical movement of the Colombian people may continue to count on the support and solidarity of the international community on the road to the construction of an integral peace”, this within the framework of the XI Assembly of the WCC, to be held in Karlsruhe, Germany between August 31 and September 8, 2022, with the motto: “The love of Christ leads the world to reconciliation and unity”.

In this call we enlist the mission that as DIPAZ we have been undertaking in a new political context full of hope in the country, whose people want to continue working for a comprehensive peace, reconciliation, negotiated solutions to conflicts and work for the most vulnerable communities, a mission that we hope the WCC will continue to accompany and strengthen,” they say.

“In accordance with the motto “The love of Christ leads the world to reconciliation and unity” and the call of the XI Assembly of the WCC “to the churches to work tirelessly together with people of other religions and all those of good will for just peace and reconciliation”, DIPAZ invites the WCC to ratify the commitment and accompaniment of the churches and the Colombian people on the path that leads to reconciliation and unity that allows the longings and hopes for peace to become a reality”, says the letter.
