Denouncement: U.S. youths visiting Cuba arbitrarily detained

CUBA-

The Martin Luther King Memorial Center denounces that young people from the United States who visited the Island, where they held a cultural program that included exchanges, dialogues and learning about the reality of the Cuban people, were arbitrarily detained on May 3 by the Border Patrol and Customs, being victims of strong reprisals, even though they were traveling regularly and with all the permits. We join the denunciation of the CMMLK.

These young people were spokespersons of endless denunciations that many people, organizations and institutions, in many parts of the world, demand in favor of the elimination of the Blockade to Cuba, they say.

As the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Center, we denounce the harassment to which the hundreds of young ‘ambassadors of peace’ are being subjected and we repudiate the injustices suffered at this moment by those who embrace and support solidarity among peoples as the only alternative to capitalism. We denounce these acts of outrage against good people. Young people who wish and dream of a better future full of hope to transform what is imposed on us as “impossible”.
