The role of fundamentalism in a changing political landscape in Latin America

Evangelical or Pentecostal churches have gained an enormous influence in Latin America the last decades. These Christian movements are often accused of politicising the faith. In this workshop we will discuss the connection between fundamentalist-, evangelical and pentecostal churches in Latin America and their role in a shrinking democratic space. We hope for a nuanced discussion that will give an increased understanding of the role of religion.
