Launch of WCC booklet “Building Interreligious Solidarity”

WCC-The launch of the document “Building Interreligious Solidarity in Our Wounded World. The Way of Common Formation” will take place on 28 July, during the Interreligious Studies course at the Ecumenical Institute at Bossey, and will be livestreamed on the YouTube channel of the World Council of Churches (WCC).

The document was finalised in December 2022 by an interreligious team of educators with significant experience in formation processes of religiously diverse groups. It is a follow up to the conference on “The Future of Interfaith Dialogue,” in December 2021 in which participants discussed principles for common formation as a vital element for the future of interfaith dialogue.

The launch of the booklet will take place in the format of a panel conversation with: Rev. Dr Kuzipa Nalwamba, WCC programme director for Unity, Mission and Ecumenical Formation; Dr Clare Amos, theologian at the Church of England Diocese of Europe and coordinator of the drafting team for this booklet; Dr Zainal Abidin Bagir, director of the Indonesian Consortium of Religious Studies; and Rabbi Margo Hughes-Robinson, participant in the Bossey Interreligious Studies course.

The panel will be moderated by Rev. Dr Simone Sinn, academic dean at the Ecumenical Institute and interim coordinator of WCC’s Interreligious Dialogue and Cooperation programme. She points out: “Where people from different faith traditions come together to learn with and from the other, interreligious solidarity is not just a word, but becomes lived experience and profound commitment. I look forward to the engaging conversation at the launch of the new document.”

Join the launch on 28 July at 14:00 – 14:45 Central European Summer Time.
